Purpose

Essential Information

Prerequisites:

  • Participants attending this training must possess underpinning knowledge, skills, abilities in mechanical work and have an awareness of safe lifting operations to support succeeding in this training. They must have completed training equivalent to GWO BTT Mechanical.

Note

Although not required as prerequisites for attending this training, workers leading HV cable pulling operations in the workplace may require in addition to this module, training equivalent to the GWO Slinger Signaller Standard and / or the GWO Crane and Hoist Standard.

Any such requirements should be determined by the employer, based on the designated duties within the HV cable pulling team.

  • Wind turbine technicians involved in cable pulling or HV installation
  • Mechanical or installation workers entering high-voltage environments
  • New entrants to the wind industry supporting HV cable operations

Assessment:

Continuous instructor-led practical assessment

Must demonstrate safe cable handling and pulling techniques to pass

Certification:

GWO High Voltage Cable Pulling certification

Valid for 24 months and uploaded to WINDA (Global Wind Industry Database)
