Purpose of IGF Code Sea Time Reduction

• Maritime professionals who require practical, hands-on training in IGF fuel systems and operations. • Suitable for individuals who need to meet the sea time requirements for the IGF Code.

Prerequisites

• Completion of the IGF Code Basic Training through Maersk Training. • Completion of the IGF Code Advanced Training through Maersk Training. • Valid identity document (Passport/ID Card).

Assessment

• Safe LNG bunkering operations will be assessed during practical simulations. • The course ends with a multiple-answer test, requiring at least 80% correct answers to pass. • Continuous feedback is provided throughout the course.

Certification

• Successful completion of the course, including the test and practical assessments, grants participants a flag state-approved certificate.

Course Content

This course includes a series of practical exercises and operational scenarios to develop your skills and knowledge:

Safety Procedures

Learn and apply safety protocols during practical exercises and LNG bunkering operations.

Industry Standard Bunkering Procedures

Gain hands-on experience with standard procedures and checklists for LNG bunkering.

LNG Bunkering Operations

Participate in two full LNG bunkering operations post-drydocking, including the processes of emptying and gas freeing LNG bunker tanks.

Tank Inspection and Gas Handling

Learn inerting and venting procedures prior to tank inspections.

Fuel Changeover

Practice switching machinery between LNG and conventional fuels.

Faultfinding and Troubleshooting

Develop skills in diagnosing and solving issues related to LNG installations.
