RT - Flex Engine Standard Operation

Purpose

Introduction of RT-flex design;

• Mechanical flex components (Fuel Supply Units, Fuel Pumps, Actuators, Servo Oil Supply Pumps) and the function of ICU(Injection Control Unit), CLU (Cylinder Lubrication Unit) and VCU (Valve Control Unit);
• Hydraulic and pneumatic system;
• Engine Control System (WECS) and the UNIC Control System, the Variable Injection Timing and the Variable Exhaust Opening/Closing;
• FlexView Operator Interface;
• Basic Service aspects & Service Bulletins
• Engine RT-flex Simulator Practical

Objectives

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

1. Understand the principles of RT Flex engine operation, including the functionality of electronic control systems and their components.
2. Identify and interpret key engine parameters and diagnostics to monitor performance effectively.
3. Demonstrate proficiency in starting, operating, and stopping RT Flex engines under standard conditions
4. Analyze engine performance data to detect abnormalities and predict potential issues
5. Troubleshoot common operational problems using systematic approaches and electronic diagnostic tools
6. Evaluate engine system performance and maintenance needs to ensure safe and efficient operations
7. Develop effective operational plans for routine and emergency scenarios, ensuring compliance with safety standards and procedures

Prerequisites Recommended Engineer CoC or similar knowledge level/technical background, with some practical experience on 2-stroke main engines
