A balanced workplace

A balanced workplace

We help create more self-aware leaders that build safer, healthier and more inclusive work environments by giving them the tools to support mental health, psychological safety and recovery after critical events.

Why this matters

Operational pressure and organisational change can put real strain on people. When leaders don’t have the tools to include and respond, the cost shows up fast through burnout, miscommunication, sick leave and even safety incidents.

This isn’t about fancy HR slogans. It’s about developing leaders' self-awareness and their understanding of good leadership, so we equip the people closest to the work to support their teams with confidence, care and consistency.

A balanced workplace starts with small actions: listening, checking in, and leading by example. These are the human skills that hold performance together.

What our customers say

Amalie Grevsen – Marine Culture Lead, Marine People Strategy, A.P. Moller - Maersk

"The Leading As One camp has been instrumental in improving participants' understanding of leadership, with 92% of participants expressing high motivation from the facilitators' delivery."

Leonardo Sonzio – Vice President, Head of Fleet Management & Technology, A.P. Moller - Maersk

Our focus areas

We support teams and leaders in four key areas where culture is lived, not just written down:

Mental health

Make it normal to talk about mental health and act early when someone is struggling. Leaders learn how to spot signs of distress, have supportive conversations, and guide people to help.

Psychological safety

Teams perform better when people can speak up without fear. We help you build this into your team’s habits through clear expectations, open communication and visible follow-up.

Inclusion and intercultural awareness

Respecting differences isn’t just polite, it’s practical. We help global teams reduce friction, understand diverse viewpoints, and work better together.

Post-incident support

After tough shifts or stressful events, how leaders respond matters. Our tools help managers lead debriefs, defuse tension, and support recovery so teams can move forward.

Programmes and tools

01

Mental health support skills

A 2-day face-to-face course for leaders and staff. Learn how to notice early signs of stress or mental health issues, respond with care, and create a culture where asking for help is safe, not stigmatised.

02

Debrief and defuse

Half-day virtual or classroom session. Helps leaders guide their teams through emotionally charged or stressful events. Restoring trust, stability and readiness to perform again.

03

Intercultural awareness

A one-day course (or two virtual modules) for anyone working in cross-cultural teams. Supports smoother collaboration, stronger communication and greater respect in diverse crews or global settings.

04

Inclusive leadership at sea

A reflective blended program that helps leaders understand their own behavior, emotional responses and impact on others. Ideal for building self-regulation and emotional intelligence in daily leadership. Practical learning and leadership dilemmas support inclusive behaviours and communication in multicultural maritime environments.

05

Psychological safety webinars

Short, interactive online sessions to raise awareness and spark discussion. Covers practical actions teams can take to speak up more, listen better and learn together.

06

Human factors and maritime safety

A one-day programme connecting human behaviour with operational safety. Focuses on how fatigue, distraction and communication breakdowns affect safety and how leaders can mitigate these risks.

What you can expect

By the end of each programme, leaders and teams will walk away with:

  • Greater confidence in responding to mental health and emotional needs

  • Stronger habits around communication, inclusion and care

  • Practical tools to reduce conflict and miscommunication

  • Better team culture and psychological safety

  • This is leadership you can see in daily behaviour, not just in slides.

Mental health at work

Mental health is integral to workplace performance, safety, and retention. In high-pressure sectors like maritime, offshore energy, and logistics, the impact of mental wellbeing is profound. Our Mental Health at Work programmes equip leaders with practical skills to support their teams proactively.
