What we assess

Every person brings a different set of habits, blind spots and potential. We assess what really affects performance, especially in demanding, high-responsibility roles. These insights help match the right people to the right roles and help those people grow. We look at:

Leadership behaviour

Communication, trust-building, team impact

Cognitive and technical skills

Decision-making, focus, rule application

Safety mindset

How individuals respond under pressure or uncertainty

Interpersonal awareness

How they read, lead and relate to others

Stress response

Behavioural shifts and resilience in critical moments

Our assessment programmes

We tailor each programme to your operational reality, using realistic exercises and experienced observers.

01

Virtual Personal and Professional Assessment (vPPA)

A virtual, psychology-led process used for promotion readiness. Combines cognitive testing, personality profiling and live conflict scenarios.

Participants complete: • Intelligence and focus tests • Case presentations and peer exercises • Group scenarios rated by trained assessors • A final debrief and report with development suggestions

02

Bridge Team Enhancement Programme (BTEP)

A simulator-based review of navigational decision-making, teamwork and human factors. Used for senior bridge teams and leaders post-incident or pre-promotion.

Assesses: • COLREGs, ECDIS and navigation response • Communication and coordination in live scenarios • Individual and team behaviour during complex bridge operations

03

Engine Team Enhancement Programme (ETEP)

A performance check for engine room leadership and crew blending technical and behavioural feedback. Focus on system knowledge, communication, fatigue and leadership under time pressure.

Includes: • Simulator exercises (e.g. CO2, blackouts) • Human factor observations • Fatigue and workload response • Immediate feedback and long-term recommendations

04

Human factors and maritime safety

A 1-day session that blends insight with practice, helping leaders understand how their own biases, habits and signals affect safety. Ideal as a standalone awareness course or pre-SIRE preparation.
